Founder of Magamama
Whether a morning meditation or afternoon cup of tea, the rituals we practice serve us more than we realize. They are our life’s bookends, moments we rely on and enjoy. For mamas especially, these small ceremonies are what gets us through the day. At A Wild Dove, we are so inspired by rituals that we’ve asked some of our favorite mamas to share their smallest, most celebrated acts that help them feel their best.
Up next is Kimberly Johnson, founder of Magamama, an empowering community and resource for new mamas (and a speaker at the WMN Space pop-up this weekend!) She shares her most cherished moment of the day with her daughter -
My favorite ritual with my daughter is...
"when I climb in bed with her at night. After a day of running around, it is the time when our bodies get close. These are often the most soulful and deep moments between us when the things that really matter to her come to the surface, when she opens up to me about how her day was and how she is really feeling. She is a professional cuddler, and has code words like "butt launching in" when she wants tighter spooning, or "head on chest" when she wants me to put my arms around her. We both look forward to and get so much out of this closeness at the end of each day."
